Birds photographed at Riverdale

My deep love for birdwatching began unexpectedly when a couple of amazing people from Birds SA visited my farm to conduct a bird count. They weren’t just experts—they became great friends, sharing their passion and knowledge in a way that completely captivated me. Sue, one of them, took a breathtaking photo of a rainbow bee-eater, its vibrant colours glowing in the light, and in that moment, I was hooked,

That single image opened my eyes to the incredible birdlife around me, turning casual observation into an obsession. Since then, I’ve spent countless hours watching, listening, and capturing my own images of the birds that call this land home. Here are some of the photos I’ve taken on the farm.
